Luxuries such as a power-operated rear liftgate, automatic high-beam headlamps, remote start, interior ambient lighting, driver memory settings, leather upholstery, and heated second-row seats seem well worth the upgrade. Of the Grand Cherokee L's six trim levels, the Limited best balances features and pricing. If you have no need for a third row of seats, the smaller, two-row Grand Cherokee (reviewed separately) offers a similar experience at a slightly lower price point. A V-6 engine is standard, but a 357-hp V-8 is optional and increases the Grand Cherokee's towing capacity to a stout 7200 pounds. If you're lucky enough to have the budget, the Grand Cherokee L impresses with a comfortable ride, a host of desirable features, and ample performance. This means a higher starting price than rivals such as the Honda Pilot and the Kia Telluride, which may place top-spec trims of Grand Cherokee L out of reach for typical mid-size buyers. While base Laredo models are certainly nice, it's the high-end Overland and Summit trims that really impress, with Grand Wagoneer-inspired accommodations. This three-row family SUV retains the go-anywhere capability we expect from a Jeep, but its interior is a big step above what you'll find in a Wrangler. Jeep has been pushing its products toward the luxury end of the spectrum recently and the 2024 Grand Cherokee L is a good example of the off-road brand's fanciful vision. ![]()
